Painting your living room walls

on

Choosing paint for your living room walls is almost as important as choosing the furniture. This is because the walls are the feature that sets the ambience in any space.

There are quite a few factors you need to consider before you choose your paint.

Use colors that are trending for 2015, if you wish to go for something bold. This includes olive green, Mediterranean blue, pastel colors and of course you still have the classic favorites; the white walls and the grey walls.

Before you choose the paint for your walls, think about what type of finish you require. You can opt for a matte finish, glossy finish, eggshell or satin finish. Alternatively you could simple opt for covering up half of your walls with wallpaper. If you have children, you may want to consider getting paint that is washable so that it will be easy for you to keep the walls clean.

Think about factors such as how much of natural light you will have in your living room, and the size of the space. Smaller areas with less sunshine would look even smaller with paint of a darker shade on the wall. You would need to go for softer hues like pastel colors or yellow to brighten up the room.

Larger rooms however, would look great with darker walls.
